The CADEM Convention is taking place April 29-May 2 and we highly recommend attending! Here is a the schedule of events. General Meeting: Campaign Basics
Join us this Thursday for our Campaign Basics: Everything You Need to Know Meeting to hear from Valentina Connell, a campaign manager and Eli Cousin, a press assistant. They are going to tell us about the fundamentals of campaigning, different careers in campaigns, and how to find campaign jobs. RSVP here and join the Zoom link here.
Valentina is an expert on field and she has worked for the Ossoff Campaign and the Democratic Party of Georgia in addition to years of organizing. Eli has an aptitude for all things communications as a former press assistant for the MJ Hegar Senate campaign and a former intern for the Buttigieg Presidential campaign. General Meeting: Derek Chauvin Trial
Join us as we have a meeting discussing the Derek Chauvin trial, with special guest speaker, Jacari W. Harris. Jacari Harris is the executive director of the George Floyd Memorial Foundation. He has received the UNCF College President of the year, worked under Kamala Harris, and released a memoir. He'll speak on the Derek Chauvin trial and what to expect next in this national case. General Meeting: Anti-Asian Hate Discussion
Join CalDems as we will be having a “Anti-Asian Hate Discussion.” The meeting will consist of us watching portions of “We Need to Talk about Anti-Asian Hate” by Eugene Lee Yang and breaking for discussion. We encourage you to watch the video in full, too, as the ad revenue will be donated to the AAPI Community Fund!
Professional Development Workshop
Join CalDems for the second part of our Professional Development Workshop series. We have a very special guest, Sarah Abdeshahian, who is our past president and all-around jobs and political expert! During the meeting, we’ll be sharing tips and resources, including helpful political job sites, opportunities, and advice on how to incorporate your Cal Dems experience into your resume and cover letter. Additionally, Sarah will be fielding questions and providing tips as a recent grad who is working in politics, and Elizabeth Grubb, our current president, will be giving feedback on resumes and cover letters individually. Come prepared with your resume and cover letter if you would like feedback.

Antisemitism on the Left
Join CalDems this Thursday as we collaborate with ASUC Senator Ronit Sholkoff to cohost “Antisemitism on the Left,” which will be composed of a virtual training, discussion, and Q&A panel relating to Antisemitism in politics. The event will feature guest speakers Hillel Rabbi Adam Kelman and Professor Ethan Katz — if you have any questions that you would like to submit beforehand, you can fill out this form here!
