However, the case for women’s reproductive autonomy was far from settled in that courtroom–there has been consistent and relentless backlash to the ruling by state legislators and other motivated interest groups across the country.

The surge in anti-Asian violence seen over the last year is a terrifying, but unsurprising development in what has been a long and untold history of Asian Americans. While Donald Trump’s inflammatory rhetoric during the pandemic certainly stoked the flames of racism, there is a far deeper and more structural pattern of racism that has afflicted Asian American communities since as early as the 19th century.

I know many democrats want to forget about him, but the Republican party is still very much the Trump party, and Trump is probably running again in 2024. The notion that there is a significant voting block of moderate Republicans that won’t vote for Trump and can sway the election is more or less a fantasy. So, it is important to understand what the Trump Administration did and what it means for this country.

Yes, it seems the nefarious moderate is here to stay. So, with complicity in touting moderates (and discernible rancor over Manchin and Sinema’s untimely weaponization of this very concept), will young progressives and leftists ever receive anything in return for their investment in the Democratic party?
