He then began to groan about President Biden driving up gas prices – he loves to complain to me about “my President.” I took it in stride, laughed it off, and offered to pay for half his gas.

As a politically naive 14 year old, I remember watching these ads trying to understand what was being said. I vividly remember seeing the host from The Apprentice, that show I would watch with my grandfather late at night when nothing else was on, urging me, the viewer, to vote for him. I recall him pledging “I will make America great again.” This sentence has confused me for the past five years.

Not only is this bill damaging for the LGBT youth in Florida, but it is also a terrifying illustration of the implications that this wider culture war has on Americans.
