Hi Dems!
Since we were lucky enough to have Professor George Lakoff come to speak at
our meeting last week, we've moved the information about the June primary
election to this week. Come out tomorrow (Thursday) at 7 pm to 56 Barrows to
hear about:
* The local and state-wide races we'll be voting on in June: the House,
State Senate, State Assembly, Central Committee, and Superior Court Judge
* The propositions and measures we'll be voting on: Prop 98, Prop 99, and
Measure F
* How to register voters
* Why you should register absentee for this election!
This meeting will be a great way to inform yourself and get prepped to vote
for Democrats in the primary on June 3rd, so don't miss out! This is also
the third-to-last meeting of the year (sigh!) and the last meeting before
our Executive Board elections on April 24th. On that note...
SATURDAY IS THE LAST DAY TO DECLARE YOUR CANDIDACY FOR AN EXECUTIVE BOARD
POSITION IF YOU WANT YOUR NAME TO APPEAR ON THE BALLOT!
The positions up for election are: President, External Affairs VP, Internal
Affairs VP, Secretary, and Treasurer. To declare your candidacy, have your
name placed on the ballot, and have your candidate statement sent out to the
membership, please send the following information to me (sarah at caldems.com)
and Molly G. (molly.green at caldems.com) by THIS SATURDAY:

To read descriptions of each position, as well as a full explanation of how
to declare your candidacy and how election procedures will run on April
24th, go to http://caldems.com/about.php and click "View Our Constitution."
If you have any further questions, please email me! Hope to see you all at
the meeting tomorrow!
Democratically (and almost termed-outedly) yours,
Sarah Gold
President
