CAL DEMS ANNOUNCEMENTS

>>Thursday General Meeting
Thursday April 5, 7pm, 170 Barrows

The College Young Democrats candidates for the upcoming elections (held
during convention) are coming to speak. Cal Dems will then endorse the
candidates we support. To vote on endorsement you must be a member in good
standing (meaning that you have or will have been by Thursday to five
general meetings this semester and paid the $10 dues). If time allows we
will head over to the AAA meeting where there will be an ASUC candidate
forum. If you have questions regarding your membership (is it in good
standing?) email Molly (molly at caldems.com); otherwise, please direct all 
other questions to Michelle (michelle at caldems.com).

>>Cal Dems Board Elections

Another year has flown by, and during our last meeting on Thursday, April
26, we'll be electing new officers for next year's Cal Dems executive
board! The following positions will be voted on:

* President
* External Affairs Vice President
* Internal Affairs Vice President
* Treasurer
* Secretary

If you are interested in one of these positions, we recommend that you
declare your intent to run and email a brief candidate statement (under
250 words) to Molly (molly at caldems.com) and Michelle
(michelle at caldems.com) by Saturday, April 21. We also recommend that you
familiarize yourself with the procedures outlined in our constitution
(http://caldems.com/docs/constitution.pdf), in particular the restrictions
on campaign activity at Cal Dems events.

In order to vote or run for office you must be a member-in-good-standing,
meaning you have attended five general meetings this semester (including
those in April) and have paid your $10 semester dues.  Any questions?

It's convention time! Join us for the paltry price of $40 (plus dues) in

UPCOMING EVENTS

Candidate Forum
Saturday April 7, 12pm, 455 Golden Gate Avenue in the Milton Marks
Auditorium (San Francisco State Building)

If you are interested in the upcoming CYD and CCD elections this is your
chance to meet the candidates. This is also a great opportunity to meet
other young dems from across California. If you plan on attending please
email Michelle (michelle at caldems.com) as soon as possible. There is a
check-in so show up a little early.

>>Relay for Life
April 14th-April 15th, 8pm - 8pm, Edwards Stadium

This is an event that celebrates survivorship and raises money to help the
American Cancer Society in its mission to save lives, help those who have
been touched by cancer, and empower individuals to fight back. During the
event, teams of people gather at Edwards Stadium and take turns walking or
running laps. Each team tries to keep at least one team member on the
