Remember that if you want to be able to vote in Berkeley for the
upcoming November 7 election, the deadline to register is MONDAY,

>> Operations Coordinator Position

Cal Dems is looking for a new board member! The Operations Coordinator
will be working with the rest of the Board to organize events and to
keep the membership, the campus, and the public at large informed
about our organization and activities. The Operations Director will be
expected to attend weekly board meetings, help out with activities,
and publicize events.

This is a great way to get more involved with the club, and we
encourage new members to consider this opportunity. To apply, fill out
an application (available at this Thursday's meeting, or get one by
emailing suzanne at caldems.com). We will then contact you to set up an
interview time.

>> Climate Change Fair Preparation

Cal Dems will be participating in the November 3 climate change fair,
sponsored by the ASUC sustainability team. The climate change fair
will focus on educating students and staff about the facts, myths, and
potential consequences of climate change. Cal Dems needs some
volunteers to make our exhibit interactive and educational. Contact

you are interested.

Monday, October 16, 6-9pm, 1936 University Avenue

Help make calls to identify Democratic voters in the area! As phone
banking is coordinated by the local United Democratic Campaign, your
efforts will aid several Democratic campaigns and issues. Drop by for
an hour or two to lend your support! Free snacks will be provided.

PVC will be peer editing our op-ed articles for Smart Ass and continue
our preparations for the October 26 debate with BCR.

Come see candidates debate it out at one of the ASUC's weekly speaker
series debates. The debate on October 18 will be between Kriss
Worthington and George Beier, candidates for Berkeley City Council
from District 7. On October 25, the candidates for Mayor, Rent Board,
and other offices will be taking part in a forum on local issues.
Finally, the November 1 debate will feature the candidates for City
Council from District 8, Gordon Wozniak and Cal student Jason Overman.
