Many thanks to everyone who has helped make sure California votes
Democratic on Tuesday. You guys are awesome! Now that we're in the
final 48 hours, your help is more important than ever. Three ways you
can get out the vote:

1) Monday: Phone banking, 6-9pm at 1936 University Avenue. Contact
Natalie (natalie at caldems.com) to sign up. Free food and other
Democrats!

2) Tuesday: Get out the vote all day on campus. Hand out slate cards,
help students find their polling place, and drive the GOTV golf cart!

3) Email/message 5 friends and remind them to vote!

>> Climate Change Science and the Supreme Court
Wednesday, November 8, 12:30-1:30pm, 250 GSPP

On November 29, 2006, the Supreme Court will hear the case of
Massachusetts v. EPA, about regulation of CO2 as a pollutant. A group
of climate scientists has submitted an amicus brief to the Court on
the scientific merits of the case. Dr. Fung will discuss the amicus
brief and the response thus far to the brief. Lunch will be served.

>> Reverberations of 9/11: On Campus and Beyond
Wednesday, November 8, 6-8pm, Free Speech Movement Café

Reverberations of 9/11 explores how post-9/11 policies have adversely
affected students of Middle Eastern, South Asian, and Muslim descent.
The keynote speaker is Banafsheh Akhlaghi, founder of the National
Legal Sanctuary for Community Advancement. The aim of the program is
to empower students by informing them about government policy and
their rights, encouraging them to ensure that the civil rights of all
