INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY WITH STATE SENATOR CAROL MIGDEN

State Senator Carole Migden is looking for a summer intern in her San
Francisco office.  The
Senator represents the 3rd Senate District, which includes San
Francisco, Marin and part of Sonoma
Counties and is Chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee. This is
a fast paced office that
handles everything from community events to press appearances to
constituent concerns. Interns
will help respond to constituents, answer phones, perform clerical
tasks and assist in community
outreach. Interns should have an interest in public service work,
demonstrate initiative,
independence and excellent writing skills.  Tasks will draw on
communication, organizational and
problem-solving skills.  This will be an excellent hands-on experience
in politics at the state
and local levels. Hours are flexible, and course credit can be
arranged, though this is an unpaid

I'm looking for a full or part-time intern to assist the Mayor's
finance director. The job would
entail administrative support for fundraising purposes through the
summer, and would provide the
intern will significant exposure to the inner workings of fundraising,
working with the scheduling

to take place in San Francisco this summer. I hope that you can make

REGISTER FOR THE CONVENTION
Registration is $50 until July 1st when it then becomes $60. On-site
registration, if available, will be $75.

We are guaranteeing 500 registration spots. Anyone over the first
500 may be placed in overflow rooms for general sessions and the
banquet, so reserve your space early.

Create a user account here on this site. User accounts are free and
you can register multiple attendees all at once.

You MUST create a user account to register for the Convention.

SIGN UP FOR THE CONVENTION TRAININGS
Visit www.democraticgain.org to sign up for one of the training
tracks, just click on the training tab and you will see our training
info. The GAIN training fee is covered in your registration fee.

You can choose from Growing Your Chapter, Building Your Campaign
Skills or Running for Office as a Young Candidate.

We are also only guaranteeing the first 500 people who sign up for a
training spot. Anyone who registers after the 500 cut-off may be in
an overflow room.

You MUST create a user account on GAIN's website to register for the
trainings.

BOOK A FLIGHT
You can fly into either Oakand (OAK) or San Francisco (SFO) because
both airports are accessible via public transit or shuttle service.

Call the Official Convention Airline, United, for discounted rates.
You can choose a 5% discount off any published airfare, including
First Class or a 10% discount off the unrestricted, fully refundable
coach fare. You can receive an additional 5% discount off tickets
purchased 30 days in advance.

Book tickets by calling: 1-800-521-4041, tell the agent you are with
Group ID Number 529PK. Reservation Agents are on duty 7 days a week
from 8am to 10pm (EST).

You can also choose to book a flight on popular sites like Expedia
or Sidestep to find the most economical airfare.

WATCH FOR YOUR TRAVEL INFO KIT
In July, we will provide all registered members a "Travel Tip Info
Kit", which will include Transportation information to and from the
hotel, a Convention Packet and SuperShuttle Coupon.
