SC polls and Electability
Hello Cal Dems, Eric here (or if you prefer President Pro Tempore). I decided it’s about time I started posting before I graduate. I was just thumbing through the SC exit polls and I discovered something incredible, for the first time Obama won convincingly on electability and his supporters almost universally believed he was the most electable.
According to the CNN exit polls 48% of voters said Obama was “Most Likely to Beat Republican Nominee” vs. 36% for Clinton and 15% for Edwards.
Moreover of Obama supporters 88% said he was “Most Likely to Beat Republican Nominee” vs. 68% with Clinton’s and 73% with Edwards’ supporters. Even 21% of Clinton voters said Obama was most electable!

African American support and the desire for change won it for Ocam but this is a big reason the margin was so large. The numbers represent a huge change from pre Iowa polling which showed Clinton leading by 10-20 points on electability and a significant shift since New Hampshire. There we won electibility by 9 points but only 70% of Obama voters thought he was most electable while 87% of Clinton voters thought she was. The numbers have flipped!
Voters are shifting towards Obama on electability, for that matter he is the most electable but thats another post. This should help Obama tremendously California, electibility is the key.
